Tighten Pivot Pin!

Postby Madmarco » Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:11 pm

Hey Chad! Just wondering if you could tell me if there is a way to tighten the pivot pin on a fixed pin model. :?: I ask for Customs reasons, and, to eliminate blade play on a couple of my pieces. Thx, Mark. 8-)

Is the type with screws or one that has been peened or pinned?

Sorry to get back to you so much later Ruben, I've been tied up with stuff! It is the type with a peened pin. While I have you, how would I go about removing a peened pivot pin? Thx, Mark! 8-)

I use a Dremel cut off wheel and gently grind off the head, then punch it out.

Once again, thanks for the teriffic info! I had a nagging feeling that is how its done, just wanted to be sure! I removed an unwanted swinguard this way, on a cheap folder, and it worked great, ground the head off, and the pin fell right through the hole, taking the guard with it! Thx again Chad! 8-)
